The Artisan Facial

The term Face Beat is now synonymous with slapping on make up to a degree of incredible skill but it has new meaning to me.

Getting a facial with Dija of 3107 London Skincare at Anamaya.

I was invited over by Dija who’s had years of 10 years  experience in the industry and honey she knows her ish!

As soon as I walked in, my coat was taken and a warm cup of herbal tea was given to me along with a questionnaire which required everything from my eating habits, where I exercise and if I was trying for a baby.

I have always known I have oily skin which in a weird way lead me to believe my skin wasn’t dry. Maybe it’s because I had heard the phrase moisturising oils so many times that I had assumed that my skin was dry because it is oily. I had layers of dead skin cells sitting around my cheekbones and eyebrows and here I was wondering why my highlight wasn’t popping. All this was discussed in the pretreatment consultation and my facial was explained to me. A steady stream of steam was used to loosen all that dead skin and exfoliation and masking and a whole lot of steps I just enjoyed and cant recall.

Here’s what I think about getting a facial from now on…since we are out here buying the most expensive stuff for clear, young and nons, your blood flow to the  upper layers aren’t optimum so you are literally washing off money at the end of the day because application won’t be efficient as you hoped.-tired looking skin, please get them regularly to resurface and awaken the cells to boost collagen and produce a new layer of skin. Because all that product you are applying is wasted to a large degree because, your skin is layered in dead cell

The expert will also advise you on how to efficiently apply the products you have; I have been using my toner all wrong! I had been looking for a good SPF that won’t make me ashy and I found a gem through having my facial last week. She used products from her own skincare line 3107 London and from the highly boutique, luxury and super efficient Elethea . Guess where I will be getting my serum from now 😉 😉

In all it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon just off Kensington High Street and as I await my skin to renew in the next week and bookmark the follow up email Dija sent about what we discussed about my skincare(within 24 hours!),  you can check out a few steps of the facial live on my Instagram page.

Until later,

    Great post.
Went to get a much needed facial this weekend myself.
With the kind of work I do, I have different products and brushes on my face always, having oily skin doesn’t help the matter.
