What’s Bitrex?

‘Bitrex is the world’s bitterest substance’. (I have honestly been saying most bitter…but let’s move on).

Excuse my chipped nails 🙂

Looking at my uber chipped nails midweek,  I decided to give my nails a quick clean and popped into my nearest Superdrug.  The Bitrex sign caught my eye on the nail polish remover and with a little Googling found out that,  this substance has been added to prevent children (and adults) from taking more than a swig of your mit-care product amongst others.  How genius!

This substance, known in the scientific realm as Denatonium Benzoate is completely harmless but devilishly vile to taste. We do know how our little angels seem to find and eat everything but food, haha.

So this is an added plus in child-proofing your manicure set. Hmmm,   I wonder where I can get a bottle of the original stuff? Back to Google!

Until later,

Love,

Vesta

not really coz I'm currently giving myself a mini mani via teeth, (old habit), it's to prevent children from accidentally drinking the nail polish remover
