The Ghanaian vrs The Blogger

It may not be just a Ghanaian thing but an aspect of the African culture but you don’t talk about things that are going on with you. A good example is you don’t tell anyone you are going to leave for the West or that you are pregnant even if you are waddling around like a penguin pretending you’ve inhaled a football. You just don’t talk about it. You may jinx it and it would be all your fault for being a blabbermouth.
Here comes the age of information Twitter and blogging et al. As a child you are discouraged from keeping a diary just incase your secrets catch up with you. But here, this is celebrated from The Kardashians to autobiographies to YouTube, we are encouraged to share ourselves with millions of preening eyes with the adage that you will inspire someone to be better with what is happening in your life.
Not everything is everyone’s business but I don’t want to be sitting on the sidelines when I could be on here ranting for free. It is therapeutic for me but will I regret this?
